The Positive Test

11:55

Quite a while ago now Jono and I found out something that was quite a shock, but is very exciting news - I'm pregnant!

We hadn't planned to have a baby just yet, but we've always pictured ourselves having a family in the future, so why not now?!

We had our 12 week scan, and our due date is now set at the 28th January 2015!

The scan was amazing, although our little baby did not want to be seen - I had to wiggle about to try and get baby to move into a position where they could be measured. We were able to see so many things, such as our baby's beating heart, brain (which looked like a butterfly!), bladder, stomach, and both arms and legs!

Our next scan is booked for the 19th September, and we've decided we want to find out the gender - I can't wait! I think it will help me feel even closer to my little bean when I know if they're a boy a girl (and help with the baby shopping too!). I have a feeling that the baby is a boy, so we'll just have to wait and see if I'm right!

Whilst pregnancy is a blessing, and we are very excited to welcome our little baby to the world, I haven't found it all plain sailing. I've found it quite hard to adjust, as there's so many things changing, not just in my body but with my life in general. I always expected that I would enjoy every second of pregnancy, and whilst I'm now in my second trimester and enjoying it a lot more, the first trimester was a whole lot tougher than I thought it would be.

There are so many things changing in our life, and the biggest is probably that we need to move house. And not only that but we're moving cities, although only half an hour up the road, it's going to be a big adjustment not being quite so close to all of my friends and family. But equally, I'm so excited to finally have our own house, I really can't wait!

I intend to write weekly updates documenting my pregnancy, so that I can look back and remember all the things that happened during these 9 months!
