10 Weeks Old

Monday, April 13, 2015

Dear Zach,

Double figures... you've reached DOUBLE FIGURES and I can't quite believe it. Okay, so maybe its just weeks and not years, but to me it's such a big number already. My little innocent newborn is no more, and instead I now have a curious and funny baby who's learning so much every single day. At ten weeks old you're a happy little dude, and we call you 'buddy' most of the time, because that's what you are, our little buddy.

We are so lucky to spend so much time together as a family, as Daddy works from home so much. It means he doesn't miss out on as many of the little things as he would if he was in the office. We take you for walks, and chat with you and play too although you're not the biggest fan of playing just yet. I'm sure that will come with time. Last night we even conducted a hilarious song and dance routine to try and make you laugh - it didn't work, you just lay there with this quizzical look as if you were thinking 'out of all the parents in the world, why did I get stuck with these two crazies?'

This week was both the grand national and the boat race. We placed some bets and we did one for you on number 2, Many Clouds, as of course you were born on the second. And you won!! So of course we've spent our winnings on you, you've got some swimwear and a Jumperoo headed this way! I can't wait for you to be a little bigger so you can use it as I'm sure you're going to love it as you're always trying to be on your feet.

Speaking of swimming, we can't wait to take you to the pool and see you splash about in the water! We're sure you'll love it as you absolutely adore being in the bath. We want you to learn to swim as early as possible, as neither of us are confident swimmers. When I was little I went to swimming class despite never having been swimming before and just assumed it was something everyone could just do. I was wrong and had to be dragged out of the water by the lifeguard - and I never want that to happen to you!

I wonder what this week will bring, little one. I'm sure it will be just as exciting as every week so far has been, maybe even a little more as you're double digits now!

All our love, as always, forever more, Mummy and Daddy xxx

(thought I'd add a cute one of him asleep in the moses basket!)
