Charity Shop Finds - April '15

Wednesday, April 22, 2015

Last month I saw Alex from Bump to Baby write a post about the things she had found in a charity shop for her son, and thought it was such a wonderful idea (see her post here).

We live close to a lot of charity shops, and they're often where I buy books for myself as they're so much cheaper. This week whilst on the hunt for a Jodi Picoult book for myself I ended up finding some bargains for Zach.

I found a copy of The Cat in the Hat, and a game of it too - both at only a couple of pounds. Dr. Seuss books are some of my absolute favourites and I couldn't resist picking them up for Zach for when he's older.

I bought The Pleasure Book for Boys and Girls purely because I have a bit of a thing for old books, and this one is from the 50s. I love the stories and the language used as well as the vintage pictures - I guess this one was more for me than Zach really!

Finally I picked up The Elephant's Friend and Other Tales from Ancient India. I picked this up initially because of the gorgeous colours on the cover, and when I saw what it was about it sealed the deal. I really want to read stories to Zach from other cultures, as I want him to respect and understand other people and where they are from. This is something that is really important to me, and I thought that reading him stories like the ones in this book will help.

Have you found any bargains in the charity shop recently?
