{The Ordinary Moments} #3 - Walks By The River

14:48

I'm linking up again with Katie from Mummy Daddy Me for 'the ordinary moments'!

Hasn’t the weather been lovely this week? We’ve been loving the sunshine and the increase in temperature, so much so that we’ve turned our heating off. Our house has stayed warm despite our draughty single glazed windows which is a bit of a shocker. We love going out on walks as a family, and this week we headed for a walk by the river to bask in the sunshine, and it seems like we weren’t the only ones with that idea as the river bank was pretty busy!

Although it is definitely warmer, Jono and I still differ in opinion when it comes to the temperature. I still wore my coat as there’s still a chilly breeze whereas Jono wore shorts, a T shirt and flip flops as if it were the height of summer. Is this a male thing??

We can’t wait for Zach to get a little older so he can start to enjoy our trips out, as at the moment he sleeps pretty much whenever he is in the pushchair, and when he is awake he’s not that interested in his surroundings. I long to take him to all of the places I went to as a child, and I hope he will enjoy them as much as I did. I want to take him to feed the ducks, and to the farm to see all of the animals. It’s such a weird thing being a parent  -  you get to make so many new memories whilst also revisiting your own.

On our walk I took so many photos of the beautiful weeping willows which line the river bank. They are my favourite tree, I think there is something so fascinating about them, I love the way they appear to dance when the wind blows. I’d love to have one in our garden, and I’ve even found them for sale in Wilkinson’s for a mere £4 – but we need to buy our own house first!

It was so nice to get some fresh air and some good old vitamin D, before heading home to watch the Grand National. We placed a £5 bet on number 2, Many Clouds for Zach as he was born on the second and we won!! As the bet was for him we bought him some swimming gear and a Jumperoo! I can't wait for them to arrive - he's still a bit too young for the Jumperoo, but we can't wait to go swimming, hopefully within the next couple of weeks.

  1. It's been so beautiful hasn't it? I love these photos, what a gorgeous set of pictures. I remember when my girls were babies, especially Mads my first, that I used to push her around in the sunshine for absolutely ages in her buggy, and stop and read a book when she had fallen asleep. Such happy memories! :) x

    1. So far it's been too cold to stop so I hadn't even thought about taking a book out with me, but that is such a good idea - thank you! I'm treasuring every day because I've learnt how quickly they grow already! :) xx

  2. Oh the weather has been fantastic hasn't it; we've had our heating off too, though I'm the one in shorts and t-shirts while H is still sporting a jumper and his wooly hat! And well done on the National win - I hope he likes the jumperoo!
