Our Summer Bucket List

Wednesday, June 10, 2015

I was pregnant for the whole of last summer, and I absolutely hated it. My first trimester seemed to coincide with the beautiful weather, and the heat made me so sick. I spent days indoors avoiding the sun, and I feel like I missed out on so much.

This summer will be very different though as I won't be pregnant so no more sickness, and we have Zach to enjoy it with! I am so excited to play outside with him and go on lots of little adventures which I'm sure will all be documented on here. I've decided to write a summer bucket list and hopefully we will be able to do lots of fun things this year:

1. Take Zach to the farm. There is an amazing farm nearby which is set in a beautiful estate and is somewhere I went a lot as a child myself. I can't wait to take Zach and watch him make his own memories there. Although he's still so young this year I'm keen to take him to see how he reacts to all of the animals as he hasn't seen that many so far.

2. Go to the beach. We took Zach to the beach for the first time on Mother's Day, but it was really cold and windy. Zach was really young and slept the whole time, so we want to go again so he can experience it now he's a little older. The only thing that worries me though is that he likes to put everything in his mouth so we'll have to avoid the sand!

3. Play in the garden. We've recently dug up a large chunk of our back garden and planted lots of grass so that we can have an area for Zach to play. We want to get him a small paddling pool as he loves to be in water so I think he would have a lot of fun splashing around!

4. Go on a weekend break. We'd love to take Zach on a little holiday somewhere in England just for a night or two. We've been thinking about heading to Brighton which would be really lovely and I think we'd have a lot of fun!

5. Go to the botanical gardens. Zach loves being outdoors and looking around at nature, so this is somewhere we'd like to take him as there's so much to see. Again I used to go a lot as a child and really enjoyed it, and I'm sure Zach will too.

6. Go to the Zoo. We're hoping that towards the end of the summer Zach will be old enough to enjoy a trip see all of the exciting and exotic animals at the zoo. We've got a small one local to us, and a really fun wildlife park too!

A lot of the things listed Zach probably won't enjoy properly until next year or the year after but we're just so excited to start doing them and making some fun memories with Zach!

What's on your summer bucket list?

  1. Sounds like you have lots of fun things planned for this summer. Zoos are amazing fun at summer.

  2. Such a fab bucket list. I love taking Oliver on day's out, he loves the farm. I quite fancy a little weekend away at the seaside :)

    1. Thank you! A weekend away at the seaside just sounds lovely doesn't it? xx
