Wimpole coach house

I have been going to Wimpole ever since I was little and I have so many memories of going to the farm and seeing all of the animals. It is one of the places I have been most excited about taking Zach, and I can't wait to make lots of memories with him there over the years.

We headed there to meet my dad and sister for a family day out, and thankfully the weather was absolutely beautiful! When you get there the first place you go is the beautiful building/courtyard which I'm sure used to be a coach house where there is the reception as well as the gift shop, the toy and fudge shop (my favourite part!) and a second hand bookshop. At Wimpole you can go to the Hall, the Home Farm and the gardens - we chose to do just the farm this time, but will definitely be heading back to go to the rest soon!

We met my dad and sister in the picnic area where we sat and ate our (vegan!) lunch whilst eyeing up the toy tractors! They had some when I was little, but they have since upgraded and these toy tractors are seriously cool, and we just had to get a photo of Zach on one of them! I think it would be great to go back each summer and take a photo of him on one. There is so much to do for kids in terms of play equipment, which is great for when parents want to sit and enjoy a relaxing lunch!

We then set off to go and see all of the animals, heading to see this pigs first! They were so noisy, and so smelly, but I always think there is something so fascinating about them. Wimpole has so many different breeds, and there were some little ones which were so cute! We also saw some sheep, the shire horses, goats, Shetland ponies and so many others!

Before heading home we took the obligatory photos on the big tractor - Zach's second of the day! We walked back to the entrance through the gardens, but there is also the option of a ride back in a tractor pulled cart. Basically, there's lots and lots of tractors about - just as you would expect from a farm!

I would definitely recommend a visit to Wimpole as it is such a great day out. There is so much to see and do, and to be honest we barely scratched the surface! I've been so many times over the years, but it was both Jono and Zach's first trip so I can't wait to go back and show them the rest! I will now leave you with the photos we took of the day:

  1. This looks like such a great place to visit. We're working our way round NT places with our annual passes and this one looks awesome although I fear it's a bit of a long way from us! x

    1. It is really amazing, and if you do have the chance to go I would definitely recommend it! xx
