DIY Gold Star and Flag Toppers

We are throwing Zach a 'twinkle twinkle little star' themed party for his first birthday which is in less than two weeks time. I've decided to make all of the decorations myself, and I made these gold star and flag toppers to stick into food on the buffet table. They are perfect for cupcakes, and I plan to use them for things like cheese and pineapple on sticks! They look really effective but were really cheap, quick and simple so I thought I would share how I made them:

Gold Star Toppers

You will need:
Glitter gold star stickers - I found mine on eBay
Cocktail sticks

Star Toppers You Will Need

Peel the back off one of the stickers, lie it down flat and simply press a cocktail stick onto the centre of the star. Peel the back off a second sticker and place it on top making sure the edges line up as closely as possible. Press down firmly to make sure the two stickers join together securely. That's it!

Gold Flag Toppers
You will need:
Gold glitter washi tape - I found mine on eBay
Cocktail Sticks

Cut a piece of washi tape twice the length you want your flag to be. Place a cocktail stick in the centre, and fold the washi tape over so it sticks together being careful to make sure the edges line up. Then use your scissors to cut a V shape in the end to create a flag shape. Simple!

Keep an eye out for more simple DIY party decorations over the next few weeks, and let me know if you have a go at making these!
