Me & Mine - February '1611:43
This month was a special one in our household as our little boy Zachary turned one on the second! It meant the first week of February was very busy as we celebrated with our nearest and dearest. For his actual birthday we spent the day with both sets of grandparents, and then had a big 'twinkle twinkle little star' themed party at the weekend. There were so many people in our little house, but it was really lovely to see just how many people were there for our boy.
Whilst the first week was filled with birthday fun, it was also filled with illness which then carried on for a further two weeks. Poor Zach had a cough, a cold, hand foot and mouth AND cut 5 teeth. I found myself ill too, but realised that going to work whilst not feeling my best was actually better than staying home with a poorly toddler - it gave me a bit of a break!
This month Zach also had his first bike ride and was bought his first pair of shoes. He's so active now, and I have a feeling that this summer is going to be a very outdoorsy one! We also think he is getting a bit closer to saying his first word. On the whole Zach is quite quiet; he uses actions to communicate rather than sounds, but the noises he makes are starting to sounds more like words and he is definitely starting to understand what we say which is really exciting.
The photo I've shared this month is one we took on his birthday, and I thought I would also add one from the day he was born for comparison - it's crazy to see how much he has changed! Neither photo is great quality but they both mean so much to me. There's nothing better than capturing the most special moments we have together as a family.
