Me & Mine - April '16

06:30

This month the weather has been pretty arctic as I'm sure everyone is well aware, but somehow we still managed to get outside a lot. We've been making a real effort to make the most of our time, and when we have had a spare afternoon we've headed out for some family time in the fresh air.

Our photo is from Cambridge University Botanic Garden which is somewhere I used to go all the time as a child. I have only taken Zach once before, and Jono had never been, so we decided to tick it off our list one Saturday. Zach had a great time splashing in all the puddles, and running around the greenhouses.

We also took a trip up to the coast this month, again on a saturday afternoon when we had nothing planned. It was pretty spontaneous, but that made it all the more fun. Although it was freezing cold we had a great time running around and finished the evening with Zach's very first Nando's!

Speaking of our toddler, he has had his ups and downs this month. On the one hand we've seen more and more tantrums when he doesn't get his own way, and it is so much tougher than we had imagined (and we know it's just going to get worse). But then on the other hand he's been so so much fun the rest of the time. He's babbling a lot more which is really nice as he's always been so quiet and a little slow with his speech,

This month we've also started project garden as we want to get it ready for Zach to play in. Our plans were slightly delayed after our drains blocked and our garden got covered in poo, but thankfully that has been sorted now! After a week of having garden furniture taking up space in our house we've taken it outside, and this evening we had our first fire and toasted marshmallows together once Zach was in bed. Pure bliss.

I hope everyone has had a brilliant month too, and fingers crossed May is a little warmer!
