We took this photo on the two year anniversary of finding out I was pregnant. I love my little family!
May has been an incredibly busy month, with a couple of big events at work and lots going on in our social lives. It's felt as though we've had a lot of our old, pre-baby life back over the past few weeks, and it's been so much fun spending time with friends again. Getting the balance right has been hard though, and trying to juggle everything has proved a little overwhelming to say the least. You may have noticed I've been very absent from my blog this month, and that is the reason why!
I did do one big blog related thing this month though, as I headed to my very first conference, Blog Camp! I had been looking forward to it for a long time, and it definitely didn't disappoint. I learnt lots from the sessions, especially the two which focused on Pinterest by Sarah from Taming Twins. It was a really inspiring day, and I hope to put what I learnt into practice. The best part of the day though was spending time with two of my lovely blogging friends, Jade from Raising the Rings and Faye from Tales and Tea. I can't wait to see them again at Brit Mums next month!
At the beginning of the month we celebrated a very special birthday as Zach's cousin Lilah turned one! Being so close in age means that they are the perfect play mates, and it was great to watch them run around together. At the party we found out the lovely news that Lilah will be getting a little brother in just a few short months! I can't wait to see how Zach reacts to a little newborn, but I am also longing to have some cuddles with him too - after saying I didn't want another baby I am starting to get a little broody!
In the middle of the month Jono and I booked the day off work and headed to Cambridge Beer Festival with our friends as we do every year. We had so much fun, far too much to drink, and I even ended up booking a holiday to Vegas for my best friend's 30th! We also went to London this weekend where we watched England v Wales at Twickenham. I had never been to a rugby match and actually enjoyed it far more than I thought I would, but the highlight was definitely buying a foam finger!
Zach has been an absolute star throughout May. He has just been so much fun, so well behaved and so grown up and we couldn't be prouder of him. The biggest change has to be how much he understands what we are saying, and it really is amazing to watch him toddle off to bed when we ask him to, or go and grab his shoes ready to go out. He has also been sleeping and eating really well, and has generally been pretty happy and relaxed which has definitely been appreciated. He is still behind on his speech, which if I'm honest is worrying me a little, but there have been a few noises that sound a bit like words so I hope with time we will get there.
So that was our month - sorry it was such an essay but I really wanted to share everything and write it all down. I think that June will be a busy one too: we have lots to look forward to, but I hope that we manage to juggle everything a little better!
If you're heading to Brit Mums Live at the end of the June then please do let me know - I can't wait to meet everyone!
