Me & Mine - July '16

Sunday, July 31, 2016

July has been a wonderful month. We've spent a lot of time outside, soaking up every minute of sun and making memories together in the great outdoors. It's been so lovely to breathe in that summer air, and feel the heat of the sun on our backs. And I have to say I've even loved the storms too - especially that smell you get when the heavy rain hits the dry earth.

We spent the first weekend of the month down in Surrey, having one last play date with Zach's cousin Lilah before another little one joins their crew. We spent an afternoon out in the forest, and watching the two of them together is so cute - I hope that they will be the best of friends as they grow up!

Next month we will be welcoming a new arrival to the family and we are so excited; I just can't wait to hold another tiny newborn in my arms!

This month has seen us visit Norfolk a few times, and I have to say it is where my heart is truly happy. It is where we have the best adventures, and I just can't get enough! We spent one sunny Saturday there, just us three, picking berries and exploring the beach. Getting out knees muddy and our socks a little soggy.

The second time we went I drove just Zach and I, which was an achievement in itself as it was my first big drive without Jono in the car! We met up with Jade from Raising the Rings and spent the morning at Sandringham with her and her gorgeous boys. It's so amazing to have made real life friends through blogging, and being able to get together and see our kids play with each other is just amazing.

This month also brought with it Zach's first proper tantrums, all of which were over the most ridiculous things. Our boy is really starting to test his boundaries, and I suddenly feel a little out of my depth. It's so much harder than I thought it would be, but I'm kind of hoping he just needs to get it out of his system. Wishful thinking it may be, but that's all I've got right now!

August is set to be another fun one as we have lots of plans already. We will also hopefully be seeing the Health Visitor regarding Zach's speech - although he's started saying the odd word he's still a little behind. We just want to keep an eye on it and make sure he's being assessed properly just in case there is anything wrong.

How was your July?
