Pumpkin Cookies, GBBO and 'Choo Choo' - #Little Loves

15:51

I've decided to starting taking part in a linky called #LittleLoves which is run by Morgana from Coffee Work Sleep Repeat. It's a lovely way to look back at the week that has just passed, and remember all of the small things that you would otherwise forget. So here's a little look at what my week has looked like:

READ

This week I picked up a new book, and finished it the very same day! I read 'The Woman in Cabin 10' by Ruth Ware, which is the book for this month's #BookClub140, a twitter book club which is run by Stacie from Parker and Me. I was absolutely gripped the whole way through the book, and I couldn't go to sleep until I found out how it ended! I definitely recommend it!

WATCHED

The Great British Bake Off!!

I am so glad that it is finally back on our screens - it is the only programme I really keep up with, and I absolutely love it. The first episode didn't disappoint, and I'm excited to spent my Wednesday evenings for the foreseeable future snuggled up on the sofa with the biscuit tin watching it. So far my favourite has to be Selasi and I think he definitely should have been star baker!

MADE

Okay, so I have to premise this by saying I know it's summer, and it's boiling hot, but this week I was itching to start my autumn baking! I decided to try a recipe which I found on good old Pinterest for pumkin oatmeal cherry and white chocolate cookies, although I swapped the cherry for some sultanas and cranberries as I wanted to use up what was in the cupboard! Sadly they didn't turn out as nice as I had hoped, but there are lots more autumn recipes for me to try over the coming months!

WORE

A raincoat! The weather has been a bit crazy this week - boiling hot one minute, and grey and rainy the next. I do think though that we've had the best summer weather we've had in years, and as much as I'm looking forward to autumn I have appreciated getting outside so much over the past couple of months.

HEARD

"Choo Choo!"

Zach has a big of an obsession with trains at the moment, and has learnt to go "choo choo" so that is the noise I have heard over and over this week. It is so so cute, and I love hearing him learning new noises, especially as he's a little behind with his speech.

AND LASTLY...

This week we had the wonderful news that another little baby has safely joined our family! Zach now has another little cousin to play with, and we can't wait to meet him. I am so excited for newborn cuddles, although I know I will get seriously broody! Why can't they stay so tiny forever?

  1. 100% agree with you on Bake Off! Jack and I were shocked at star baker too haha. I wish I had chance to join in with the book linky, but I just don't have time to read (and when I do I have a million Youtube videos to watch instead haha) xx

  3. I just finished The Woman in Cabin 10 for the book club today - gripping read; a real page turner!

I've also been switching between raincoat and summer clothes these past few weeks... I have no idea where my wardrobe stands right now! Summer has been pretty glorious, though I am keen to see autumn arrive. My fave season!

My son is very train mad too. He is a little older than Zach, and has recently gotten in to Thomas. He sits listing off all the trains names from a poster he has and I have no idea how it remembers them all!

I hope you have a lovely weekend! :-)

  4. You cannot beat a wooden train set - such a thing of childhood. Love that there's a Twitter book club too. I've tried to read more this year but don't think I could read enough to join in with that. I'm loving that GBBO is back on too! x

  5. I might ask for a wooden train set for Parker's birthday, he doesn't have one and I think he'd love it. Loving GBBO too! Looking forward to book chat tomorrow :) xx

  6. I have to admit I am ready for Autumn now. I love summer but September and October are two of my favourite months and I can't wait to get the knitwear out again. That books looks great (I've just made a note of the title), I love a good thriller. xx
