"You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth" - Khalil Gibran

Something I really want to focus on this year is capturing more of the little moments in Zach's childhood. In less than a month my darling little boy will be turning two, and I can't quite believe it. Time has never gone so fast, and the memories of life with a baby are already faded into the distance.

Armed with a new camera, I intend to document more of our every day; those smaller, ordinary moments, which will otherwise be forgotten. Donna's linky, Living Arrows, is about exactly that, and I plan to join in each week, sharing a photo and a memory from our little life.

This week's photos are from Monday; our last day together before returning to work. It's not very often that we have a day just the three of us with no plans at all, so we figured it was the perfect opportunity to get outside on an adventure, and get some fresh air into our lungs.

We headed up to Norfolk, as usual, and despite plans to go to the beach we ended up at Sandringham. For some reason we thought it would be less messy, but the soft squelchy mud proved otherwise! We spent most of our time there in the playground, and as soon as we got through the gate Zach ran over to the swings.

So there we stood, for what felt like an eternity, whilst feeling so cold that we could no longer feel our toes, pushing him over, and over again. The joy on his face, the squeals, the laughter, and the "weeeeeee!"s were worth every single second. Before each push we would count down from 5, and he would yell "GOOOO!" before collapsing in a fit of giggles, and then waiting to slow down so that we could do it all over again.

I wished right there that I could bottle his joy. His happiness is everything, and it really doesn't take much to put a smile on his face. Being pushed on a swing in the freezing cold doesn't sound like fun to me, but to him it is so exciting, and as fun as fun can be.

And these are the moments I want to remember forever.
