REVIEW | Lighthouse Clothing Waterproof Raincoat

Wednesday, January 11, 2017

Over the past year we've found our selves spending more and more time outside on our little adventures. Despite living in a city, we tend to spend our weekends exploring the countryside and can often be found breathing in the sea air at the coast or collecting sticks in the forest. Living in England however means that the weather can be pretty unpredictable, so having good quality clothing suitable for all conditions is a must.

One thing I desperately needed was a good waterproof jacket, as I had been relying on one ridiculously non-waterproof pac-a-mac which was just not cutting it, so when Lighthouse Clothing got in touch to ask if I wanted to try something from their range I jumped at the chance.

Out of their gorgeous range I chose the Lana Waterproof Hooded Raincoat in Blackberry. I have to say I had a tough choice choosing as I liked so many of their designs, but I absolutely loved the cut of this one, with the cinching in at the waist. It looked cosy, comfortable, practical and somehow still stylish, and upon arrival I realised all of those things were correct.

The coat was delivered quickly, and it was packaged in beautiful Lighthouse Clothing packaging, but to be honest I was so excited to try it on that I just ripped it open and put it on straight away. Luckily the coat arrived on my birthday so I was able to wear it on our trip to the beach, and it was absolutely perfect. I was suuuuper impressed with the fit; I usually struggle with coats thanks to having a generously sized chest, but this one does up easily, and doesn't look like I'm trying to burst out of it - winner!

I love this coat so much that I am currently wearing it as my every day coat. Despite being perfect for days when we're headed out to the countryside I've found it to also be an absolute lifesaver on my work commute. Just this week I was caught in the rain without an umbrella, but thanks to the fact I was wearing this coat I remained warm and dry, and that my friends is pretty darn brilliant.

I would definitely recommend heading over to the Lighthouse Clothing website to have a look at their range, especially as they have a sale on right now so you could score yourself a serious bargain! They do some lovely pieces for kids, and I have my eye on the puddlesuit for Zach as he loves to soak himself by jumping in puddles (or the sea!) and always gets covered in mud when we head to the park!
