The Girls, Banana Bread & a Striped Shirt #LittleLoves

07:00

Our weekend was a lovely one, so much so that I think Saturday was the best day I've had so far this year. We collected our brand new car which was really exciting, went out for pancakes for brunch and then headed up to Norfolk where we went berry picking and then headed to the beach. We ended the day with some seriously incredible fish and chips, and on our drive home I felt so blissfully happy.

On the flipside though, this week has been a pretty shitty one so far. We've had some worrying news, and a fair few things have gone wrong, but tomorrow is a new day and it can only get better from here. We're keeping positive and hoping for the best.

READ

I've finally moved on from Lord of the Rings! This week I have started reading The Girls by Emma Cline which is the book for Stacie from Parker & Me's #BookClub140 on Twitter. It is a coming of age novel, and I'm currently about a third of the way through and really enjoying it so far. It's very different to anything else I have read recently which is a welcome change.

If you're interested in taking part in the book club, the chat will be on the 30th of July at 8pm - just search #BookClub140 on twitter!

WATCHED

This week I've been loving watching 'baby names I love but won't be using' videos on YouTube, mainly because I am super nosey and find it really interesting how people decide what names to use. Although we are not planning to have another baby any time soon I am always on the look out for name ideas, and I've been freaking Jono out a bit by talking a lot about what we might name our next child.

MADE

Thursday brought with it an absolutely huge storm so Zach and I spent the morning inside watching videos of trains on YouTube and doing a little baking. We had some bananas that were going brown so we quickly whipped up a banana bread which turned out pretty good. Zach really enjoys baking and loves putting all of the ingredients in the mixer so I definitely want to make it a weekly activity.

I also made us a big batch of homemade macaroni and cheese for lunch, which I think must be the ultimate comfort food. I mixed in some smoked ham and peas too, and it was so good!

WORE

On Saturday when we headed to Norfolk I wore my favourite striped shirt from H&M with my black jeans which I almost wear permanently. The outfit is really simple (as is all of my wardrobe) and although I love it one of the buttons on the shirt likes to pop open so I accidentally flashed quite a few people my bra... oops!

HEARD

Jono and I have now been engaged for almost seven months, and after viewing a couple of venues a few months ago we gave up on the wedding planning front and buried our heads in the sand. I have to say I've found it all really overwhelming, but something changed this week and I'm finally feeling ready to start making plans.

I love all of the little details, so alongside looking for the perfect venue I've been thinking about the smaller things that will make our day perfect. One thing that is really important to get right is the music, and How Long Will I Love You by Ellie Goulding popped up while I was doing some research and I can't get it out of my head!

I would love to know what songs you had at your wedding, for first dances or walking down the aisle or for anything else - let me know in the comments as I am after some inspiration!

AND LASTLY...

Next Friday we are finally off on our camping trip, and although I am not feeling particularly prepared I am feeling really excited! It will be 8 full days of freedom - a chance to take a step back from the world and embrace some seriously slow living. I can't wait to spend lots of quality time together as a family, make new memories and visit new places. Bring it on!
