Friends, The Power & Our Wedding Cake #LittleLoves

Friday, January 19, 2018

This week has been jam packed, and it has gone by as quick as a blink of an eye! Zach started pre-school on Monday, so we're trying to get into a new routine, and I'm getting really excited about having a few hours each week that I can spend doing whatever I please!

READ

I am on an absolute roll with my reading, and as I mentioned last week I started reading (and then finished!) The Power by Naomi Alderman. I've seen so many people rave about this book and I can see why - it really makes you think, and speaks so clearly to the unequal gender balance that currently exists in society. If you've not read this yet I would definitely recommend giving it a go.

WATCHED

I'm sure you'll know by now that all 10 series of Friends are now available on Netflix? Well, despite the fact that we already own all of the box sets we decided that we would watch all of Friends from the beginning again on Netflix. We last watched them all almost three years ago when Zach was a newborn, so it's really nostalgic to watch them again, and of course they are still as hilarious as ever!

MADE

At the weekend we made a very exciting decision - what type of wedding cake we are going to have! We had a cake tasting which was incredible; I have never been so excited to eat cake before in my life! We settled on a three tier cake - the top tier will be chocolate orange, the middle tier will be salted caramel and the bottom tier will be carrot cake. I can't wait to try them all on the big day!

WORE

This week has been a bit more fun than usual as I took a day off work to celebrate on of my best friends' birthday. Last year we spent a week in Vegas to celebrate her 30th, but this year was a little more low key! We went out for the most amazing afternoon tea that I have ever head (she says as if she is an afternoon tea connoisseur) at the Tamburlaine Hotel in Cambridge. I wore my favourite comfy striped shirt to afternoon tea as it has a little breathing room, which was ideal as there was SO much food!

HEARD

This week I've heard very little about what Zach has been up to at preschool - it's honestly like trying to get blood out of a stone trying to get him to tell us what he has been up to and whether he's been having fun! Despite that, it seems pretty clear that he's enjoyed the two sessions he's had so far, and I'm so proud that on his first day he ran off to play without batting an eyelid. Zach is so independent, and I think that preschool will be so good for him.

AND LASTLY...

I've bought several pots of the new Halo Top lower calorie ice cream from Tesco and it is absolutely incredible! It is usually quite expensive, but this week it is half price at just £2.50 a tub. I'd definitely recommend picking up a tub, or two, or three!
